Siksha O Anusandhan University Bhubaneshwar is a deemed university located in the city of Bhubaneswar, in the state of Odisha.
The University has been accredited as a deemed university by the Department of Higher Education, on the advice of the University Grants Commission. This has come mainly because of its important contributions to technical and professional education.
As a deemed university, it enjoys some special advantages. It has full independence in deciding its courses, syllabus, admission procedures, and fees.
The university has 9 colleges/institutes that offer degree-level courses in various disciplines, such as:
- Undergraduate programs in the field of engineering, medicine, pharmacy, business, nursing, biotechnology, agriculture, and law.
- Graduate programs in the field of engineering, medicine, pharmacy, business, nursing, biotechnology, science, humanities, environment, nanotechnology, materials science, agriculture, and law.
- Doctoral degrees in the above-mentioned fields. Currently, more than 600 research scholars are pursuing their Ph. D, in thirteen research centres, for basic and fundamental research. 247 of these scholars have been awarded doctorates.
The university has an excellent campus of its own. It is constructed on a land area of 451 acres (1.83 square km). Hostel facilities are available here for its students, both boys and girls, who are pursuing various courses at the university. It can accommodate up to 4000 girls in 11 girl’s hostels, and up to 5000 boys in 24 boy’s hostels.
All the hostels are maintained extremely well, have round-the-clock wi-fi connectivity, and are medically equipped. The university provides transportation facilities to all its day scholar students that cover all the main areas of Bhubaneshwar.
